I've created a monster...

Hello, all! I have decided that in doing this blog, I have created a monster. Or maybe the problem is that I have told people about it...Anyway I am getting in trouble from friends for not blogging! So now I have created this thing and people are EXPECTING me to keep it up. Now listen people, my life is not that interesting for me to make a daily entry. Unless you want to hear about poopy diapers and cleaning up toast crumbs! Both of which I took care of today!
I will tell of my adventures today... first I got three kids up, fed them breakfast, and sent 2 out of 3 off to school. One exciting thing is that we were excited to do Laurens hair for school today. She wanted it cut shorter so badly, so last night after bathtime, I got out the sewing scissors and chopped about 4 inches off her hair! I didn't really want to cut it, but I decided not to live my dreams through her hair, and did it for her. She looks so cute, today we flipped the ends of it up and she LOVES it! I will post pictures tomorrow maybe. Then I read the paper, made beds, cleaned up breakfast, babysat my friend Tricias little girl, Violet. Went to the school and ate lunch with Lauren, picked up the drycleaning, picked kids up from school, babysat Teri's 3 kids for a couple hours, made supper, picked up toys a million times, did homework....... Get the picture? Not exactly interesting reading. There you go Mac, todays update!

Terrible news for our neighborhoods...

So today was a crappy day for us and our surrounding neighborhoods. Apparently, a man tried to abduct a 10 year old girl from her bedroom window this am, and he got her out... she fought him off and her parents found her outside in the backyard. He apparently knocked on her window, had a gun and opened the window and dragged her out. The worst thing is, it was in my friend Teri's neighborhood, just 4 houses down from hers. The school was in lock down, and they called here at lunch to make sure none of the kids were walking home alone. It is really terrifying for everyone. We have had to talk to the kids about it, and now they are nervous, especially Lauren. She is actually in here sleeping on the computer room floor! It is an awful feeling thinking about that happening right here among us. It happened about 7-ish this am. The girls dad had already left for work, and it happened while the mom was in the shower. Yikes! So ... Love on your kids and be aware. But as always I am going to remember that..."God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of peace, love and of a sound mind" Thats in Timothy somewhere, don't know the exact verse. But it is a good thing to repeat to oneself.

The New Bedroom!

I am still too new at this and can't figure it all out. This time my pics were too big and there was no room for my "blogging". Isn't my room BEAUTIFUL? I am really loving it, it is so dark and cozy . Now we have to figure out what color to paint the bathroom off of the bedroom. I wanted to do the whole blue and brown that is popular nowadays, but Kurt is tired of brown. So I am not sure what we will paint it.

Well, I was a mean mom. Connor had the long shaggy hair going on, that is trendy right now. However, he didn't believe in combing it or caring for it, so .... enter the mean mom!! I made him get it cut off, and boy does it look great! He is just incredibly handsome with his short hair. LOVE IT!!!

Here we are at Dancing With The Stars!!! How fortunate we are to have a friend like Ger. We had a wonderful time...Lauren, myself, Michael and Gerry went , and it was awesome!!! Lauren said to me," I will never forget this night!" Isn't she funny?

Painting time again!

Much to my family's dismay...I am painting again. To their dismay because now it stinks in here, and it is bedtime! Anyway I am doing my master bedroom. It currently is a pale, pale green and the previous owners had a lovely look going on with it. But for us, it just doesn't work and looks dirty and yuck. So I am painting it Philipsburg Blue by Benjamin Moore and it is looking very lovely!!! Kurt will be surprised, he returns from San Diego tomorrow, and I didn't tell him I was doing it. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Goodnight!

The real star at our house!

This is the real star at our house right now. Let me introduce you to Vicky, my friend Gerry's little dog. My kids are LOVING having this dog here. They want a pet so bad, but mama is not looking for another thing to look after. Vicky is a great dog, she doesn't bark, and you barely know she is here! Poor Vicky though, Rowan is her archenemy! Rowie is loving the dog, but she is not sure how to express that love, for example Rowie is expressing it through kicks and pinches!! Poor Vicky, but hey, she doesn't run away she just takes it . What a good dog!

GO PREDATORS!!

Well, I am getting in trouble for not blogging. So here goes, she (Teri) even gave me a topic to write about!! I was a brave Momma on Monday night, my valuable friend Gerry gave me and the kids 4 tickets to the Predators vs. Calgary Flames game. I really didn't want to go all the way downtown Nashville with 3 kids, but I sucked it up and went anyway. And we had a GREAT time!!!! Beside the fact that Lauren almost got run over when we crossed the street from the parking lot to the GEC. Our tickets were killer, about 8 rows from the glass on the center line. It was so fun, it was a scrappy game with some fighting, some scoring, and the Predators won it, plus in the end they scored an empty net goal!!! Fun times. It was a challenge getting food with one adult, and 3 kids, but Connor stepped up and was a great helper. Rowan had a good time too, I was surprised, cause she is kind of "delicate", and doesn't like too many loud noises. But she clapped and talked. Thanks Gerry!

Isn't this so cute? We got our baby carrier back from a friend and Rowan has had the best time playing with this thing. She has been too big for it almost a year now, but I guess she missed it?!! She eventually, after getting in and out, and in and out, sat down in it to watch TV for a second and next time I looked she was out like a light!!! She is just such a funny girl!

Hi Kids!! I am stealing my friend Teri's idea, we are both doing some serious painting at our houses, she is doing her little boys room and had the idea to put on a before and after shot. Sooo... I am stealing her idea. Only because I am insecure about my paint choice, and I need the approval of others! So here is the before of my living room... and soon I will show you the after.

WOW... three posts in one day!

This is me and my two best friends... Lana on the left (my roommate at Camrose Lutheran College!! GOOD TIMES!!) And my best friend, Shauna on the right. We have such a great time everytime we are together. Really incredible that we got even this good a picture. Our husbands were the photographers and they were really giving us a hard time!!

Here is my brother and his cutie boy, Hayden. Hayden is just 2 months younger than Lauren, they are both 6 years turning 7. We were so proud of him, he is a great skater and a real budding hockey player!

Still trying....

Well... here is another try. I would really love to become computer literate, it drives me crazy that this is so hard for me. I am going to have to have Laura teach me, her blog is AWESOME!!!! Kurt is gone to San Diego for two weeks so it is just me and the kids. I thought I would love the time alone, but I really actually miss him. It is weird just knowing he is not coming crawling in to bed at night. Fortunately, I have gained a roommate for the entire time. My dear friend Gerry is staying here, as she has sold her house and doesn't get possession of her condo for a couple of weeks yet. YIPPEE!! It is fun and my kids are LOVING her dog Vicky being here. Canadian Christmas

Hi all,.. We have returned from a wonderful trip to my parents place in Canada for Christmas. We had so much winter fun there, and are sad that it is already over. We are blessed with a wonderful family, and the best of friends up there.
