Ger's Birthday!

Here is a pic of two of my favorite girls! The girls and I went to Nashville the other evening, had dinner with Ger at the Olive Garden and then went back to her new place where she shared her sweet little heart birthday cake! It was the most delicious cake, thanks to Gail for that! The girls were more impressed with dear old Vicky (the dog remember?) than the cake!!! Imagine that!

Valentine's Day Pictures

Here is the product of our Valentine's efforts! Isn't Lauren adorable?

A Night with the Predators

God bless Gerry, she tried so hard to facilitate the meeting of me and Wayne Gretzky, but it just didn't pan out. The Preds played Phoenix yesterday so she got us complimentary tickets, and took us down to the VIP area outside of the dressing rooms. To no avail, my beloved Wayne was nowhere to be seen. However, a second best was the autographs Connor got on his jersey from some of the Predators. It was an exciting night to be sure! (Ignore the sideways picture, I just am too lazy to take it out and start over!)

Valentine's Day Update...

Well, the neon Predators clock was a hit, but an even bigger hit was the batch of sugar cookies that Lauren and I baked. We whipped up some heart shaped sugar cookies and decorated them. That is Kurts idea of heaven, he loves decorated sugar cookies. And he really must because they are almost gone today already! Yesterday was a lot of work I must say. We also had one minor mishap, we have been teaching Connor some basics of grilling, and he was helping me with the steaks last night. Well, he had a bit of a catastrophe, he dumped the steaks and the marinade all over the back porch! So we had dirty steaks for dinner! We will probably always remember this Valentines!

Happy Valentines Day!!

To all of you reading this, Happy Valentine's Day!!! Everyone that reads this is someone close to me, so BIG love to everyone!!! (Paula, I know you are rolling your eyes at me right now....and I KNOW you are loving all the exclamation points I use) So trying to be a great mom, and win the great mom award, I got up and made the kids pancakes this am(with REAL whipped cream! Thanks to Shauna for whipped cream school!). Trying very hard to get them in the shape of hearts. Some worked and some didn't, but they all were eaten anyway. Sadly, Lauren was sick yesterday and today she is still not 100% so she ate no pancakes. I know she was not feeling well because for her to miss a sugary laden pancake is unheard of! Plus she wanted to stay home from school even though today was the Valentine party. Tonight we are having a delicious steak dinner, with candles, and wine glasses filled with delightful punch (most of this is for the kids entertainment, the steak is for Kurt and I). Then I got the kids each a little tiny valentines bucket and I filled them with treats. So that is it for the Valentine extravaganza here. Both the kids did Fun Dip valentines for their classes this year. They have way better Valentines cards than when I was a kid. I would have gotten the best friend award as a kid if I had given Fun Dip valentines! Plus I did get my beloved a Valentine present, I got him a neon Nashville Predators clock for his beloved garage!! Thanks to Ger for that! She is the best! Hope Kurt doesn't read my blog before tonight! I told him I didn't want or need anything for Valentines, I don't know if he believed me. I really don't care much about Valentine's day. Same with Halloween, I could really take it or leave it! Call me scrooge!

It Hurts to be Beautiful...

OK, as some of you know I have been spending a lot of time at then dentist office lately. Well, here is my compelling story of my teeth. (most people who read this already know this) I have veneers on my front four teeth, well a couple weeks ago, while doing one of my favorite past times-chewing my nails, one of my fancy old teeth broke off and crumbled into my lap!!! Horrified, I was. I have nightmares about my teeth all crumbling off, and here I was living it@!! Anyway, my teeth were old, and needed to be replaced, but it is so expensive having them redone, so I was putting it off. Obviously it HAD to be done now. So I went to the dentist and started the ball rolling. First came whitening of my teeth. AWFUL experience!! It hurts to have your teeth whitened, did anyone know this and not tell me? It felt like all my teeth were going to fall out! Plus I got a chemical burn on part of my gums above my front teeth, and it looked like my teeth were rotting out! So today I had to spend 2.5 hours and $4400 at the dentist today. Today was the big day, he hacked off my old veneers, YUCK, and trimmed my gums so my teeth are all even. Now I have some beautiful fake, temporary teeth on. For 3 weeks till my real ones are made. Pretty soon, after plenty of pain and agony I will have a movie star smile!!!

Oh, and by the way...

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, we had another snow day today. The kids were thrilled to say the least, and today was legitimate. We had at least an inch of snow last night, and it is still on the ground tonight! So it was a real threat of danger for the kids to go to school in that today! I should have taken pictures of this snowstorm for everyone's enjoyment. Maybe next time!

The Pictures

Here are some snaps of the pictures that were done today. Just so you can get an idea...

Pics of the Kids...

Ok, I tried to be a good mom today. I took the kids to have their pictures done at Portrait Innovations today. After seeing the wonderful results of my dear friends, Teri, and Maxine, I decided I needed to finally bite it and get my kids done. I have not had any pictures done at all of Rowan since she was born!!!! (that is my bad mom admission) Anyway, we get ready, truck all the way over to Brentwood(40 miles from here), and suffer through some agonizing pictures. Rowan was totally not impressed and fussed and cried about everything. So needless to say, I did not get the romantic picture of my three beautiful kids that I envision in my head. So disappointing, but we did eventually get some cute shots of Rowie by herself. The big kids did great though. So then to top off the experience, I realize almost at the end, I FORGOT MY PURSE AT HOME!!!!!! I had no way to pay for this delightful experience. Oh, I was ready to cry! But luckily, it all turned out. Kurt was available, (for once) by phone, and just gave me the debit card number. Yippee!! So you see why I am not any too anxious to go to the photo studio??????

The Great Tennessee Snow of 2007!!!!

These are pics of the great snowstorm of 2007, it occurred last night while we slept! Good thing we were unaware of the danger we were in! The top is a pic of our house, and the bottom shot is of the drifts visible from our front door! Needless to say, school was canceled today because of the crisis situation! Isn't that funny?
